Shrink wrapping
Shrink wrapping is a highly cost effective way of bundling products together for easy transportation. The products are sometimes placed in a cardboard tray. The tray and product are then wrapped in a plastic wrap-around which is shrunk onto the products to provide a secure shipping package. This reduces the amount of cardboard being used.
The tray method has become a very popular way of easily displaying product on a retail shelf, and shrink wrapping ensures they get to the shelf in their desired arrangement.
At the destination, the shrink wrap can be easily stripped off and the products left in the cardboard tray for display in the retail position. The tray itself can be overprinted to present an attractive in-store display.
